TRANSITION FROM ANALOG TO DIGITAL ARTWORK

Switching to digital painting changed my workflow completely - today I still use an app called 'mischief' to sketch and paint virtually in my old greyscale style, like back in time. What I like is the 'honest' way to draw without using any layer- and compositing-tricks. In that manner, all sketches look exactly like the ones I do in real life in my personal real sketchbook.

Most of my freestyle-sketches have the purpose of keeping my virtuosity of shape-creations alive. I dont use any references nor paint on any existing pictures for this kind of drawings. In that fashion my concept-sketching remains a labour-intense 'sport'.

As AI enters every creative field, this year I had to adapt again and extend my workflows. using AI as an painting assistant is very interesting to develop ideas and build up fast results. AI allows me to create drawings and paintings with handmade sketches bundled with code-based instructions. It's a half human, half maschine interaction.
